Martin Fineberg

MD, FAAP Board Certified Pediatrician

Martin Fineberg, MD, FAAP, is a caring pediatrician who has been working in the San Fernando Valley since 1988. He is a member of the compassionate team at Kids & Teens Medical Group and sees patients in Agoura Hills, Beverly Hills, Encino, and Pasadena, California.

A native of Melbourne, Australia, he studied medicine at The University of Melbourne. He then trained in pediatrics at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, followed by a pediatric residency at Emory University in Atlanta. Following residency, he undertook additional training in neonatology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. In addition, Dr. Fineberg worked in the area of pediatric hematology/oncology at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, Australia.

Dr. Fineberg is licensed to practice medicine in California and Australia and was board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1985. He was re-certified in 2009 and is current with Maintenance of Certification with the American Board of Pediatrics. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a member of the California Medical Association and the American Medical Association, and an American Academy member of the Canadian Paediatric Society.

Dr. Fineberg has a special interest in the care of high-risk NICU graduates and children with pulmonary diseases. He is now available for well- and sick-child appointments in the Pasadena and Northridge offices of Kids & Teens Medical Group.

Rachel Barbour

M.D, FAAP

Rachel Barbour, MD, completed her undergraduate studies in Biology and Global Poverty at the University of California, Berkeley. She earned her Doctor of Medicine at Chicago Medical School and completed her residency in Pediatrics at the University of Arizona. During her residency, she completed a certification in Integrative Medicine and participated as a fellow in the Arizona LEND program (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities). Originally from Southern California, Dr. Barbour is thrilled to be returning to California and to be joining Kids & Teens Medical Group. She is passionate about providing excellent care to her patients and looks forward to building relationships with families in the community. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, playing tennis, and traveling.

Rohina Furmuly

PA-C Pediatrics

Rohina Furmuly is a nationally board-certified physician assistant. She practices from the Kids & Teens Medical Group office locations in Northridge, West Hills, Van Nuys, and Pasadena. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in physiological science at UCLA, Rohina earned her Master of Science degree in physician assistant studies at Western University of Health Sciences. She specializes in pediatrics and has substantial experience in internal medicine. Prior to joining Kids & Teens Medical Group, Rohina served the veterans of Ventura County at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic of the Department of Veteran Affairs. She also worked for Pediatric Affiliates and Tarzana Pediatric Medical Groups. Rohina is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and is certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. In addition to her clinical work, Rohina has performed epidemiological and clinical research for the UCLA Nuclear Medicine Department, the Kaiser Permanente Research and Evaluation Department, and Amgen, Inc. Her areas of focus have included Alzheimerā€™s disease and dementia; and she has co-authored two publications. Rohina is an avid traveler and adventurer. When sheā€™s not caring for patients at Kids & Teens Medical Group, she enjoys reading, outdoor activities, spending time with family and friends. Rohina is also actively involved with several charitable organizations.

Palak Shelat

Palak Shelat

M.D., FAAP

Dr. Palak Shelat is excited to join and be a part of the Kids and Teens Medical Group. She is a dedicated pediatrician who provides exceptional care to children and enjoys problem-solving with a positive, can-do attitude. She is fluent in English, Gujarati, and Hindi. Born and raised in India, Dr. Shelat came to the USA when she was a teenager. She always knew she wanted to become a physician. She pursued her dreams and earned as a New England Scholar, a Bachelor degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Physiology & Neurobiology, and Molecular Cell Biology at the University of Connecticut. She completed her Doctor of Medicine degree at St. Georgeā€™s University School of Medicine with high honors. She went on to complete her pediatric residency at NYU Langone Long Island Hospital. In her free time, she enjoys painting, tennis, meditation, yoga, long walks on the beach, and spending time with family and friends.

Brian Bhatt

MD, FAAP

Dr. Brian Bhatt, born and brought up in the Northeast, is looking forward to being a part of the family at the Kids and Teens Medical Group. Dr. Bhatt obtained his Bachelorā€™s degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Connecticut, and Doctor of Medicine degree from St. Georgeā€™s University School of Medicine. He went to NYU Langone Long Island Hospital to complete a three-year pediatric residency in a robust environment. He is a driven physician, keen to establish a strong rapport and provide the best medical care possible for all age groups. He is fluent in English and Gujarati. Outside of medicine, Dr. Bhatt is a husband and a father. He enjoys his time cooking, playing tennis, relaxing at the beach, learning about and collecting vintage watches, and enjoying a good marvel movie night with family & friends.

Sharmetha Ramanan

PNP

Sharmetha Ramanan, PNP is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner at Kids & Teens medical group. Sharmetha obtained her masters in pediatric nursing at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Institute of Health Professions in Boston. She is new to LA and is excited to make an impact in this community. Her career in pediatrics began through volunteering at children’s hospitals in Sri Lanka while visiting family there. In college, she studied abroad in Australia as a medical assistant for a children’s heart and lung center and was an EMT for many children’s summer camps during her time as a student at Boston University. Additionally, she helped conduct research on infant neuro-cognitive development as a research assistant at Boston Children’s Hospital. Sharmetha has always had a passion for kids and strives to be a support system and positive influence for her patients as they navigate the various stages between childhood and adulthood.
