Kids & Teens Medical Group is a general pediatrics practice that provides attentive and comprehensive care for infants, children, and teens at their Pasadena, California, office located on Sierra Madre Boulevard. The team of board-certified pediatricians takes an integrated approach to care, listening intently to parents and patients whether coming in for a well-child exam, sick visit, or after-hours care. The pediatricians specialize in diagnosing and treating common pediatric health conditions like asthma, autism, and allergies. Kids & Teens Medical Group offers appointments seven days a week, including extended evening hours through their telehealth service.

Barbara Rodriguez

MD, FAAP

Barbara Rodriguez, MD, FAAP, joined Kids & Teens Medical Group in 1989, practicing out of the office locations in Arcadia, La CaƱada Flintridge, Pasadena, and San Fernando, California. She has over 30 years of experience as a pediatrician. She now serves as co-medical director.

Dr. Rodriguez is a native Angeleno. She attended elementary and secondary parochial schools in the Los Angeles area prior to receiving her degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Southern California. Dr. Rodriguez earned her medical degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She returned to Los Angeles for her pediatric internship and residency at LAC+USC Medical Center, where she remained for a few years after training to serve as Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics. She left to pursue private practice, participate in Medical Missions in Mexico, and work in a federally qualified community health center.

Dr. Rodriguez has been board certified since 1989. She likes to focus on preventive medicine but is also very happy to support parents and guardians in the care of their children when they are acutely ill. She believes it instills confidence in their parenting skills. To better serve her patients, Dr. Rodriguez is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Outside the office, her interests include attending soccer matches, scuba diving, cooking, and spending time with her family. She also continues to be involved in teaching. She is a Volunteer Assistant Clinical Professor for the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Nursing, where she serves as a preceptor for students in their Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program.

Martin Fineberg

MD, FAAP Board Certified Pediatrician

Martin Fineberg, MD, FAAP, is a caring pediatrician who has been working in the San Fernando Valley since 1988. He is a member of the compassionate team at Kids & Teens Medical Group and sees patients in Agoura Hills, Beverly Hills, Encino, and Pasadena, California.

A native of Melbourne, Australia, he studied medicine at The University of Melbourne. He then trained in pediatrics at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, followed by a pediatric residency at Emory University in Atlanta. Following residency, he undertook additional training in neonatology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. In addition, Dr. Fineberg worked in the area of pediatric hematology/oncology at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, Australia.

Dr. Fineberg is licensed to practice medicine in California and Australia and was board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1985. He was re-certified in 2009 and is current with Maintenance of Certification with the American Board of Pediatrics. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a member of the California Medical Association and the American Medical Association, and an American Academy member of the Canadian Paediatric Society.

Dr. Fineberg has a special interest in the care of high-risk NICU graduates and children with pulmonary diseases. He is now available for well- and sick-child appointments in the Pasadena and Northridge offices of Kids & Teens Medical Group.

Emily Brandt

MD

Emily Brandt, MD is excited to join Kids & Teens Medical Group in Santa Clarita, Glendale and in Pasadena, CA. She is looking forward to fostering new relationships with patients and providing quality family centered care.

Dr. Brandt grew up outside of Buffalo, New York. She then went on to complete her undergraduate degree at Northeastern University in Boston where she majored in biology. She earned her Doctorate of Medicine at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Maine and completed her pediatric residency training at LAC+USC Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, camping, tennis and learning the ukulele.

With more than four decades of dedicated pediatric medical expertise, Dr. Sylvia Lam is a passionate advocate for children, recognizing them as the vibrant force shaping the future. Her commitment extends beyond clinical practice; she values open communication with parents, actively listening to their concerns.

Grounding her approach in clinical evidence, Dr. Lam ensures the optimal well-being of children with a judicious use of necessary lab tests and medications. Beyond medical interventions, she provides invaluable reassurance and compassionate guidance to her young patients.

Dr. Lam honed her medical skills through rigorous training at esteemed institutions, including Mercy Hospital of Chicago, University of Illinois Hospital, and Childrenā€™s Memorial Hospital of Chicago. Her areas of expertise encompass allergy management, ADHD, and weight management.

As a multilingual healthcare provider, Dr. Lam is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Medical Spanish, fostering a deeper connection with diverse communities and ensuring effective communication in delivering personalized care.

Erika Lee is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner who joined the Kids and Teens Medical Group in 2023. She completed her undergraduate studies in Human Physiology and Biology at Boston University and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Nursing at Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. She currently sees patients in Pasadena, Arcadia, and Northridge.

Rohina Furmuly

MD, FAAP

Rohina Furmuly is a nationally board-certified physician assistant. She practices from the Kids & Teens Medical Group office locations in Northridge, West Hills, Van Nuys, and Pasadena. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in physiological science at UCLA, Rohina earned her Master of Science degree in physician assistant studies at Western University of Health Sciences. She specializes in pediatrics and has substantial experience in internal medicine. Prior to joining Kids & Teens Medical Group, Rohina served the veterans of Ventura County at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic of the Department of Veteran Affairs. She also worked for Pediatric Affiliates and Tarzana Pediatric Medical Groups. Rohina is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and is certified by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. In addition to her clinical work, Rohina has performed epidemiological and clinical research for the UCLA Nuclear Medicine Department, the Kaiser Permanente Research and Evaluation Department, and Amgen, Inc. Her areas of focus have included Alzheimerā€™s disease and dementia; and she has co-authored two publications. Rohina is an avid traveler and adventurer. When sheā€™s not caring for patients at Kids & Teens Medical Group, she enjoys reading, outdoor activities, spending time with family and friends. Rohina is also actively involved with several charitable organizations.

PNP Certified Pediatrician Nurse Practitioner

Vatche Kaprielian, PA- C, is a nationally certified physician assistant practicing in the Southern California area. He is proud to be a part of the Kids & Teens Medical Group team, seeing patients from the practiceā€™s convenient office locations in Northridge and Van Nuys, California. For his undergraduate studies, Vatche attended California Polytechnic University of Pomona, where he earned a degree in Biology. Following college, Vatche worked in multiple areas of medicine, including in the business and insurance aspect of healthcare, which gave him perspective into the full patient experience. Vatche decided to continue his education and pursue a degree in physician assistant studies. He was part of the University of La Verneā€™s inaugural Physician Assistant Program, graduating in December of 2020. When heā€™s not providing care for children at Kids & Teens Medical Group, Vatche enjoys spending time with his family, particularly his nephews and nieces. He also enjoys working on cars as a hobby.

Hanna Guilas

PNP Certified Pediatrician Nurse Practitioner

Hanna Guilas, PNP is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner at Kids & Teens Medical Group. Hanna obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at UCLA School of Nursing. Hanna has always had a passion in caring for the pediatric population so she started her career at Childrenā€™s Hospital Los Angeles in 2018 through the Versant residency program on a pediatric medical-surgical floor and then later transitioned to CHLAā€™s Emergency Department. Because of her desire to serve in pediatrics primary care, Hanna sought higher education to earn her masterā€™s degree at Azusa Pacific University to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Now, Hanna is able to diagnose and treat any common pediatric illnesses and perform well-child checks while educating and guiding families on the best quality care that can be given at home. In her free time, Hanna likes to spend time with family, go on foodie adventures and travel.

Kelvin Duong

PNP Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Kelvin Duong, PNP, is a pediatric nurse practitioner on the team at Kids & Teens Medical Group. He sees patients from the office locations in La CaƱada Flintridge, Pasadena, and Arcadia, California. Kelvin completed his undergraduate studies in Angwin, California, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Following graduation, he began his nursing career at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in 2012, where he completed the Versant nursing residency with a focus on the pediatric hematology/oncology population. Deciding to pursue further education, Kelvin later went on to attend California State University, Long Beach, to obtain his Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree with a focus in Primary Care. This allows him to provide a wide range of pediatric services, including diagnosing and treating common illnesses, performing well-child exams and physicals, and managing chronic conditions. Through his work at Kids & Teens Medical Group, Kelvin is proud to provide high-quality care to children in the Greater Los Angeles area.

Faiza Iram

M.D, FAAP Board Certified Pediatrician

Faiza Iram, MD, is a pediatrician fluent in English, Hindi/Urdu, Spanish, and Punjabi. She is proud to partner with families throughout the Greater Los Angeles area at Kids & Teens Medical Group. Dr. Iram sees patients from the practiceā€™s location in Whittier, California. After earning her medical degree in the Dominican Republic from the Universidad Iberoamericana – School of Medicine, Dr. Iram completed her pediatrics residency training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Camden, New Jersey. Following the completion of her training, Dr. Iram chose to practice at community health centers where she can positively impact the lives of the children in her community. Dr. Iram is passionate about what she does for a living. She loves getting to know her patients, learning about their cultures and backgrounds so that she can provide them with the best possible care. Dr. Iram feels honored that parents entrust her with the care of their children and strives to treat them as she would her own family. Having seen international medicine firsthand, she believes in the power of modern medicine and especially that of vaccines to help prevent disease. She is also dedicated to providing support and guidance to breastfeeding mothers to help them be successful. Living a balanced life is extremely important to Dr. Iram. She finds peace by being outdoors, making good use of the California sunshine by either going for long walks with her husband and son or checking out new hiking trails. Cooking spicy Pakistani food for friends and family is another relaxing outlet. Dr. Iram feels truly blessed and is thankful for it each day.

Marianne Woods, MD, is an esteemed pediatrician on the team at Kids & Teens Medical Group, practicing out of the offices in Northridge, Pasadena, and Van Nuys, California. Her goal is to stay abreast of the latest pediatric advancements. It is also to treat every one of her patients like family and recognize each patient and family as unique and special. She is particularly interested in helping children make healthy lifestyle choices that will carry on into their adult life. She strives to provide the very best medical care with thoughtful explanations, compassion, a good ear to listen, and a smile.

Dr. Woods graduated with honors in biology from California State University Long Beach (CSULB), after which she graduated with a Master of Science in Public Health degree from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Public Health, Department of Nutrition and Environmental Sciences.

Upon returning to the United States, Dr. Woods participated in the yearlong 5th Pathway Medical Studies Program conducted by the University of California Irvine. Her internship and residency in pediatrics were completed at the Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Los Angeles.

Ashlie Tam

Ashlie Tam, MD, is a proud member of Kids & Teens Medical Group. She sees patients at the practiceā€™s locations in Arcadia, La CaƱada Flintridge, and Pasadena, California. Dr. Tam grew up on Long Island in New York. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University at Buffalo, where she earned a bachelorā€™s degree in kinesiology and exercise science. She received her Master of Science in nutrition from the University of Buffalo and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in pediatrics at the Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Tam became a pediatrician to improve the health and well-being of children. This goal motivates her to give each patient the level of attention and focus they deserve. Dr. Tam strives to provide the personalized holistic care her patients need to thrive. Elder Ayala

Elder Orlando Ayala, PA, is a dedicated physician assistant who cares for children throughout San Fernando, California, at Kids & Teens Medical Group. As a child of Immigrant parents who migrated from Puerto Rico in the mid-’50s, Mr. Ayala has been in the medical field from the age of 20. He has worked in multiple positions, including Physical and Occupational Therapy Assistant, Central Service Technician, and finally, an Orthopaedic Technician. It was in this capacity where he was introduced to the profession of Physician Assistant. In 1992, Mr. Ayala graduated from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. He has primarily been working in San Fernando Valley in adult and pediatric medicine. Mr. Ayala has also been a martial arts practitioner for the last 30 years and, for the last five years, has attempted to integrate his training with his medical practice. In doing so, he has helped patients with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and obesity. Mr. Ayala believes he is exactly where he needs to be, caring for those in this community who are the most in need.
