What happens during a sick visit?

The specifics of your child’s sick visit at Kids & Teens Medical Group depends on their age, illness, or injury, as well as their medical history. However, you can expect compassionate, high-quality care.

The team takes an integrative approach to health, asking detailed questions about your child’s illness or injury. They also review your child’s medical history and perform a physical exam.

Your provider may also request diagnostic tests to better understand your child’s illness or injury, such as a throat swab if they suspect your child has strep throat or X-rays to confirm or rule out a fracture.

Kids & Teens Medical Group works closely with many specialists, including pediatric orthopedic physicians, so your child quickly gets whatever additional care they need.

After the evaluation, your child’s provider reviews their findings with you and gives recommendations specific to your child’s illness or injury.

Kids & Teens Medical Group is open seven days a week and even offers extended after-hours care through its telehealth service and in-person at the Northridge and Pasadena locations.
